Whatever You Do, Don’t be a Jerk

If this happens to you then try to remain cool.  If you really like the person, the only real way to handle it is with the utmost cool.  Let them know that you are happy for them and you can even let them know that it is ok if they keep your number if they ever want to contact you for any reason.  That way you won’t end up looking bad and you can move on.  Love doesn’t always work out the way that we want, but when it doesn’t we should always be our best at being polite and respectful.
